On Saturday, Betis B will take on CD Anguiano in the second leg of the knockout round for promotion to the Second Division B at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. At stake is progression to the definitive round that will determine which teams get to participate next season in the bronze category of Spanish football. Despite the valuable draw (1-1) obtained in La Rioja last week, Óscar Cano prefers to remain cautious, reminding us that CD Anguiano got through the previous elimination round “by winning zero goals to one in the away match”. However, the coach praised the attitude shown by his players throughout the season and assures us that despite the potential difficulty they are "optimistic" and they believe that they will achieve the objective that was set at the beginning of the season, namely seeing the team return to the Second Division B.

The first leg match: "We controlled the match at all times maintaining a very high percentage of ball possession and we had the best scoring opportunities. Sofian, Isuardi (on two occasions), the penalties that were not awarded... We had so many opportunities to get an even better result”.

CD Anguiano: “They are a very direct team with forwards that can find spaces and players on the wing who are very good at spotting unmarked opportunities and who are able to unbalance the match. They are a good team”.

Opportunities off dead ball situations in the first leg match for Betis B: "Having a specialist freekick taker like Varela and players who are good at finishing off is an advantage which you don't often get in the reserve team”.

Avoid overconfidence resulting from the positive result in the first leg: “They eliminated their previous rival in the away match by scoring one goal and not conceding any. We have to have confidence in what we do so that we don't become too relaxed. The lads are well aware that this is not going to be an easy match. I have an extraordinary group of lads who are very mature and who know perfectly well that they have to do a lot of things well to get through this knockout round”.

Which Betis B will you be fielding on Saturday?: “The idea is always the same, one that is going to win. When you have a young team like this is not natural to try to hold back their energy and desire to score”.

Are the dimensions of the pitch at the Benito Villamarín Stadium an advantage?: “A priori, given our teams abilities, we think so. At the end of the day, time will tell if the decision to play at our stadium was decisive not”.

Focused on fulfilling the sporting goal of the season: “This team never gives up and always wants to compete. They have strength of mind. We know it's going to be tough but we are also optimistic belief that we can do it”.
