"Our priority concerns the commitment of every footballer", manifested Alexis Trujillo

"We have turned down offers for Jorge Molina; together with Rubén Castro they will be very important to the team", explained the technical secretary

Velázquez, happy with his first contact with the Heliopolitan Club, was accompanied by Alexis Trujillo, who yesterday chaperoned the arrival of the young manager. The technical secretary has already been working with the new manager constructing the team and other activities affecting the make-up of the team for the 2014/15 season. Alexis spoke about diverse activities in terms of the arrivals and departures at the club.

Julio Velázquez, the first option: “I wish Julio Velázquez the greatest success. The idea on the part of the technical Secretariat was that this new Betis included people who are very much involved in the project, ambitious people with a desire to take on the daily demands which we understand to be necessary for the team to get back into the First Division. I'm completely satisfied that he fulfils all the selection criteria. I was completely reassured in my first impressions when I had my first contact with him yesterday. We are convinced that he could be the person who will see our objectives become a reality”.

What will happen with Jorge Molina and Rubén Castro?: “Both players currently have contracts with the club. They are fundamental to see the club's return to the First Division. We have met with both of them and we have received offers from two teams who were interested in Jorge Molina. We have turned them down because we believe these two players are going to have a very important role in the team”.

When will signings be announced?: “Negotiations are underway with players who we believe will be able to reinforce the team. I hope that very soon we will be able to answer those questions and make public the names of the players who will come to join the team”.

Have any of the players said they don't want to continue?: “There are many different situations and they all need to be analysed. Right now there are some situations in which we have encountered the possibility of players who may prefer to depart. We are assessing the importance of these players for the project that we have. Our priority concerns the commitment of every footballer in the project. If there are any players who do not wish to embrace the project then we shall try to find the best solution for both parties”.
