Real Betis Balompié lost today against Real Sociedad in a bad performance from the team. The Green and Whites took the lead in the first half but the rivals scored two before half time. The team put on a poor performance in the second half.

The match went underway with high pace and intensity, and both teams had a chance within the first ten minutes, but not clear enough. Soon afterwards, a good play on the right between Joaquín and Barragán ended with a cross from the latter that Loren tapped in. Initially, the goal was disallowed for offside, but the VAR checked and it was evident that the goal was valid.

A few minutes later, Real Sociedad equalized the scored. After a foul that didn't exist, Monreal delivered a cross into the box a Javi García deflected the ball in. Real Sociedad were increasing their pressing, while Betis were trying to attack more. The match became a bit abrupt, with many fouls and interruptions. More bad news came for the Green and Whites when Willian Jose scored the second for the locals.

Five minutes before half time, Bartra tried from outside the box, but his volley was blocked by Remiro. Álex Moreno saved the third in a play in which Portu was alone and put the ball past Robles, but Moreno cleared the ball over the line. Many chances happening before the half time, as Fekir almost equalized, but Remiro made a good save.

Five minutes into the second half and the home side had the first chance with a volley from Oyarzabal that went just wide. Betis had not started well and Real Sociedad were trying to take advantage. And so it happened. Portu caught a loose ball inside the box and scored.

Betis were trying to react but not very successfully so. Joaquín produced a good free kick that hit the crossbar. Again the team found the crossbar, this time through Tello. The ball bounced off the bar and on the line but did not go in. Odegaard replied a couple of minutes later with a curled effort that Robles saved well.

The next one was for Fekir after a good play, but Remiro made a good save to deny him. Betis tried until the end but got nothing.
