MATCH REPORT | Goalless at El Sadar (0-0)

All square at the end of the 90 minutes

Real Betis Balompié got a point in a goalless tie with CA Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium in the first game of Match 5 in LaLiga.

The match began with high pace, with both teams trying to impose their way. At the start, Betis managed to do it so and had the first chance with a free kick in which Canales delivered a deep pass to Fekir, who tried with a right-footed effort that Rubén deflected wide.

The home side reacted and started to test Joel Robles. The Green and White keeper mended a mistake made by himself with a great save to an Adrián's shot from close range. In the following play, Roberto Torres tried with a curled effort that went just wide. Step by step, the pace of the game began to lower down, but not the intensity, with a constant fight for possession in the midfield.

The next occasion was for Real Betis. Pedraza made a good run on the left wing and delivered a low cross to the six-yard box. There, Rubén deflected the ball to avoid a tap-in in the far post. The clearest chance came just before half time and was for the locals. A quick counterattack that ended up with Ávila alone in front of Robles but the keeper made an outstanding save to deny the striker.

The second half went underway without changes and a very similar plot. Juanmi had the first chance but shot over the bar. Ávila hit the post in the following play in again another really clear chance for the home team.

In fact, Osasuna were superior in the second half and continued pushing. Torres shot over the bar a free kick delivered from just outside the box.

Canales gave an answer with a shot that went just wide after a good personal play. Rubi began to make some changes and Academy player Ismael made his debut with the first team. The final minutes continue with high intensity but no evident chances that could change the score.
