Historic Real Betis players such as Doblas, Ortega, López, Dani, Capi, Juanito, Alexis, Rafael Gordillo, Del Pozo, Bizcocho, García Soriano, Cañas, Arzu and Demetrio attended the presentation ceremony

This morning an event steeped in history took place at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. Real Betis Balompié presented the Betis Tour Experience’, a new interactive project which combines memories of Betis with the latest technology. Isabel Simó was charged with the task of giving a brief introduction about the different elements which make up the ‘Betis Tour Experience’; a journey that reviews the most important events in the green-and-white history in which visitors are able to experience a unique opportunity to visit the Benito Villamarín Stadium, get to know its most secluded corners and get a feeling of what it was like to have experienced thousands of matches played by Real Betis Balompié since they came to Heliópolis in 1936. This journey through Betis's history counted on an extensive guest list of players who have increased the passion for Betis with their important achievements, players like Doblas, Ortega, López, Dani, Capi, Juanito, Alexis, Rafael Gordillo, Del Pozo, Bizcocho, García Soriano, Cañas, Arzu and Demetrio.

An educational visit which is a mixture of green-and-white history and modern technology which was explained in great detail by Isabel Simó: “This is a very important day for me because of my special interest in this project. Last year, after the remodelling that had to be done in the mixed zone of the stadium, I saw that there was a lot of available space in that area. I gave a lot of thought to creating a space which would help me feel closer to Betis and in the hope that other Betis fans would experience the same passion. The project is based on four basic pillars for Betis fans. One is the Benito Villamarín Stadium, sole witness to a tremendous amount of feelings throughout its history. Another important thing were our symbols such as the club badge or the shirts worn. They have been iconic references to the historic milestones in this club since its creation. Another area is dedicated to the legends, players who have been landmarks in our history. In all of these aspects the fans are represented. The 27 Betis players who have been capped throughout the club's history are also present. Furthermore, it is an area that will have many other uses, it is a space that is not like a museum and completely different to the display areas that can be found in other clubs”.

Meanwhile, the director of the Real Betis marketing department, Ignacio Lasa, gave more information about the new ‘Betis Tour Experience’: “We have opened an area in which we hope that the Betis fans and the historic players of the club feel represented. They have been an important part of the history of this Club and key elements that have brought glory to Real Betis. Two years ago we initiated the Stadium Tour which included areas that were able to be visited. We thought that this tour was a little incomplete, we had to give more content to the intermediate areas. The novelty was to give it a historic and interactive character. The first objective was to offer the Betis fan an avocational area which combined history and the latest technology. The second objective was to obtain extra income other than those that come directly from the spectacle of football such as season passes. We didn't want to just use the stadium every 15 days but give it daily activity and for the club to get some economic return from it. We have given value to an area that was in disuse giving it an important facelift so that it could be visited by all Betis fans”.
