Before the team leaves for Murcia to initiate the first pre-season camp, Alexis gave some explanation about the work being done in the technical secretariat in terms of signings. The technical secretary, who has had an intense schedule of meetings with the coach, Julio Velázquez, over the past few days to discuss the composition of the team, recognised that his main worry at this time was to reduce the number of players on the books to satisfy the wishes of the coach from Salamanca.

Departure of Paulao and Braian Rodríguez: “They are issues that we are working on in an attempt to find solutions. We don't have a solution for either case at the moment. Over the next few days we might be able to reach an agreement to reduce the number of players”.

The players travelling to San Pedro del Pinatar: “Today or tomorrow I will meet with the coach and we will evaluate the possibilities. We will look for the best options for the Club. In some cases negotiations are very advanced and may be concluded by tomorrow. We will have to see what happens exactly in each case”.

Would you look for reinforcements in the midfield after Lolo Reyes's injury?: “I hope he will only be sidelined for four weeks and that period can be reduced. It is a delicate situation as we have Xavi Torres who is recovering after a long period of inactivity. In this case we have to analyse the situation and see what we decide to do”.

Departure of Nosa: “There are a number of possibilities in terms of his personal situation. We are studying them to find the best solution both for the player and the Club. There could be some interest from some clubs who would like to take him on loan, but there could also be on offer to sign the player. He is a player that cost the Club dear, so we have to carefully study what can be done with this player”.

Will Lolo Reyes be sanctioned?: “We are not best pleased with the situation. But we are not considering a sanction. What we do want is for the medical services to take action as soon as possible to expedite his recovery. The period pre-season preparations are very important and were talking about an injury that could take up all that time”.

N’Diaye's contract:  I never said that we had made any movement on that front It is a situation that we believe could be interesting. But as of today there are only possibilities. With Lolo's injury it is a position that we have to evaluate the necessity of making an effort. As a result it is an option that could gain in importance for us”.

Interest in Héctor Verdés: “I have just heard his name is the first time. The Club's technical secretariat has no indication of a possible incorporation on that front. We have a clear idea of the players who we believe should be candidates to reinforce that position. That player has never entered into our considerations”.

Juanfran: “He is a player that still has two years left on his contract. It is true that there has been some interest in signing him. It is also true that the manner and form that that interest has been manifested are not satisfactory at all. Until we have an offer on the table that satisfies us the player will continue to be part of the first team”.

Are the players who are training separately considered out of the team?: “The coach hasn't put anybody out of the team. I don't know if he will or not. What I do know is that he has communicated to some players his thoughts about if he is going to count on them or not. Sometimes in training you have to use a specific number of players. When there are more players than positions to be filled on the field it is only normal that he leaves those players he believes he is not going to need as much to one side. That does not necessarily mean that he does not count on them”.

The renovation of Rubén Castro: “I hope I will get the opportunity to talk to him this afternoon or tomorrow after the training session. It is a situation that we have to resolve. Rubén already has a contract with us and at the moment there are other situations that I am more worried about, such as the possible departures. I would like the coach to work with the players that he wants to count on. It is my intention for Rubén to travel to San Pedro del Pinatar with an agreement on his renewal”.

Is it possible that Rubén will be renewed in time to travel to Murcia?: “He has an idea and the Club has an idea about how they want to settle the matter with him. Both parties are keen to reach an agreement. I hope the numbers work out for both parties. Hopefully we will travel to Murcia having shaken hands on the deal. For me a handshake is more important than a signature”.

Would N’Diaye be willing to play in the Second Division?: “We have made some movement on that front. I spoke to him before he left to go on holiday. It is a solution that appeals to us but we have to sort things out. It may be possible but it may not. It's a case of working on it on a daily basis. In principle we know that he was happy here and that Betis is an attractive team. We understand that there is a possibility that he will agree to play in the Second Division. He is a player that will generate enthusiasm amongst the fans”.
