The president of Real Betis Balompié appeared this morning in the press conference in which Gabriel Humberto Calderón bid farewell as the green-and-white manager. Domínguez Platas thanked the Argentine coach for the months he was at the helm of the Betis ship. He also gave his evaluation of other burning issues such as the future of arrival of a director of football, the new manager who will take over from Calderón and the renovation of the first team.

Farewell Message: "We want to publicly thank on behalf of the Board the generosity Gabriel Humberto Calderón had when he accepted this difficult assignment a few months ago. Every day, he has demonstrated hard work, implication and honesty. We thank him for his loyalty that he has shown over the months that we have benefited from his presence. Unfortunately, football has been unfair with him and he was not able to achieve his objective, we were all convinced he was going to be able to do so. However, we would like to thank him for his generosity for accepting the post".

Will there be any changes on the Board of Directors?: "It has been announced that there will be changes in the Board of Directors at the end of the season, these will reach their conclusion by the General Meeting in September. Before the end of May you will see some members of the board leave and new incorporations. We continue to follow the plan set by the receiver, one of regeneration not revolution".

Will Merino come to strengthen technical secretariat?: "The guidelines that Alexis Trujillo has are to use and incorporate whoever he needs. You will have to ask him. He has the ability and the authority to design the technical secretariat he needs".

Who endorsed the arrival of Alexis?: "His professionalism, experience and knowledge of the Club have been his guarantees. The Board, after having made contact with numerous candidates to reconstruct the technical Secretariat decided on him as the most valid option. He is honest, loyal and enthusiastic about the project".

With Cañas and Alexis in the technical secretariat, it seems clear that Lorenzo Serra Ferrer will come: "It is a given that Serra Ferrer is to take over, I have no news on that front. As of today there is nothing that links him to Betis".

Amaya's renewal: "They've been in constant talks with his representative, which are not as yet conclusive. That does not mean to say that Amaya will not be with the club next season. The agreement has not been closed but that doesn't rule out that he will stay or that any of the others will have to go. As Alexis' arrival at the club was in amount the board did not make any decisions that could compromise the opinions of the newly appointed technical secretary. Those that there was no doubt about we went ahead with, like Caro or the players in the reserves".

Purchase of shares by Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan: "The first consideration that I have about the purchase of 3.8% of the share capital of Real Betis is one of satisfaction. The fact that a businessman who we have no reason to doubt his business acumen, pays a vastly superior price for some shares than is reflected on the balance sheets, says that things haven't been done that badly from a business point of view. This Club has value, that's important".

Is Serra Ferrer a candidate for the director of football post?: "I understand that would be good news, but at this time it is true that Serra Ferrer has no link with Real Betis, we have nothing with him. We have talked with him and many others in the world of football as potential coaches and directors of football. He is another one of them but nothing has been signed. He has not been ruled out but neither have some of the others that according to the press have been".

Alfonso Pérez Muñoz said on Twitter that the club had contacted him: "Proposals were made to him for a collaboration. No agreement was reached that was comfortable for both parties. It was not for the position of director of football". F

Does the situation with RCD Mallorca have any effect when contacting with Lorenzo Serra Ferrer?: "The situation is very similar to those of other clubs. If we have entered into talks with him it's based on his abilities and not on the situation of the team he is linked with at the moment. That possibility has not had any effect when we have contacted with him or any other personalities from the world of football".

In the end, will anybody ever come for the position of director of football?: "There will be a director of football. Alexis Trujillo is perfectly aware when we spoke to him that there would be a person above him".

Some players are nervous about their future: "Some time ago the President went to the changing room to informed them that my door was open to those who wanted to talk to their representatives. That is what Alexis is here for and he'll do well. I understand he has already spoken to some of them. I don't understand why they are nervous They shouldn't be".

Who will be signed first the new manager or the director of football?: "This market is complex, I have no idea who will be first. There is no predetermined order. But I am more worried about the manager than the director of football. Now that Alexis is with us working in the technical secretariat that area is covered whatever the case. We would like the manager to come as soon as possible so that he can have his input on the decisions that are going to be taken with the players".

Why did you decide not to continue with Gabriel Humberto Calderón?: "It was the result of a conversation Calderón had with me and the vice president Fernando Casas. He told us about his plans for the future and his opinions on the situation. We concluded that for both parties now was not the time to him to continue. It was an option was always on the cards. Things happen in a certain order, we still don't have a manager. Alexis is looking for a trainer for the season, I can assure you of that".
