MATCH REPORT | The unbeaten run continues (2-2)
Borja Iglesias and Bartra scored the goals
Real Betis Balompié continued today with the unbeaten streak, with three wins and one draw out of the last four games, today against RCD Espanyol. The team started really well and Borja Iglesias scored in the third minute. However, Espanyol turned the score around before half time. In the second half, Bartra closed the game.
The match started in the best possible way for Betis, as the team just needed three minutes to score the first goal of the game. A ball stolen in the midfield and Joaquín gave a good pass to Álex Moreno on the left wing. Moreno delivered a good cross and Iglesias headed the ball in.
After the goal, the home team started to press stronger and attack more than Betis. In this way, they leveled the score up. Darder made a good run and put the ball past Robles. After this goal, it seemed that Betis had difficulties to create plays, while Espanyol looked more comfortable. Fekir had a good chance, though, but López made a good save.
The home side was mainly creating danger in set pieces. In this way came their second goal, when Bernardo headed in the ball five minutes before half time.
In the start of the second period, the plot did not change much, with the home team pressing strong and Betis struggling to connect between lines. The first chance was, again in a set play, for Espanyol. Bernardo, completely unmarked in the heart of the box, headed wide. Betis gave a good reply and Tello almost scored with a curled effort from outside the box that Diego lópez deflected wise. In that same corner kick, Bartra scored to tie up the game.
Darder nearly got his second of the evening but Robles made a sensational sabe to his volley. The best until the end of the game, though, was for Tello ijn a quick play, but again the keeper deflected wide.
