Molinero, the first reinforcement for Real Betis, signs for two seasons

The wing-back, who comes free of any obligations as his contract with Murcia has expired, highlighted that the best thing about Julio Velázquez as a trainer is: "he makes all 25 players feel important, he knows how to get the most out of a football player and he gets 100% out of them"

Francisco José Molinero Calderón (Ontígola, 26-7-1985) is Real Betis's first signing for next season. The right wing-back underwent his apprenticeship at Atlético de Madrid and is an experienced player and knows the second tier of Spanish football very well. Furthermore, he is perfectly adapted to the philosophy and work methods of Julio Velázquez, as he was under his command at Real Murcia.

Molinero, who has signed for two seasons with an option for a third, is enthusiastic and ready to "do my bit so that the club can achieve its goals. The reason I'm here is to take on the challenge that it represents. If Real Betis wants you to come and play there are very few people who would have to think about it... I'm really stoked about coming to this historic club with a great fan base and I'm going to give it my all. I don't like talking about myself but I promise I work, work and then work some more".

When it comes to the new manager of the green-and-whites the player has nothing but admiration: "he is a manager with a lot of ambition and even though he's really young he has a lot of experience and is very savvy. He is very demanding and intense and the good thing is he gets 100% out of a player and he knows how to coax the best out of them, he makes all 25 players feel important. He creates a great atmosphere for everyone in the club making them feel important and we had to that".

Meanwhile, the technical secretary, Alexis Trujillo, said that the player from Toledo matches perfectly the profile of player the club needs to get promotion: "he is a very regular player with more than 30 matches played in the last four seasons. Defensively he fulfils his function and then his able to join in with the offensive plays. On a personal level he is a good professional and our manager knows him extremely well".
