Real Betis Balompié lost against Málaga CF (3-1) in the 35th Costa del Sol Trophy, in what was their final match of the preseason. David Larrubia, with a brace, and Chupe scored the goals for Málaga, while Cucho Hernández scored in the closing stages for the Green and Whites.

Real Betis: Pau López, Aitor Ruibal, Bartra, Valentín Gómez, Junior, Mawuli, Fornals, Pablo García, Isco, Riquelme, and Bakambu. Lo Celso, Cucho, Chimy, Ángel Ortiz, Ricardo Rodríguez, Dani Pérez, and Iker Losada came on in the second half.
