The impact of Antony's signing by Real Betis
The arrival of the Brazilian boosted Real Betis' digital growth with 250,000 new followers, reaching in just one week almost the same number of interactions or engagement as in the previous two months of the transfer window, with Instagram and TikTok standing out as key platforms
The signing of Antony has provided a major boost for Real Betis Balompié at the close of the transfer window. The outstanding performance of the player last season, in which he played 26 official matches from February onwards between LaLiga and the UEFA Conference League, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists, led the Club to make a significant financial effort to secure his services.
However, his impact has gone beyond the sporting side. In fact, his arrival has sparked remarkable growth both across the Club's digital channels and in the Retail area. On the digital side, between September 1 and 7, Real Betis nearly matched the total number of interactions it had recorded during the entire previous two months of July and August, corresponding to the transfer window (86%), according to data from the Blinkfire platform.
It is worth noting that, during the week of the transfer deadline, the Club gained 250,171 new followers?representing a 1.03% increase in the total across all Club accounts (in just a seven-day span).
Meanwhile, video views grew by 101.2% compared to the previous two months. These figures place Real Betis on par with some of Europe's top-performing clubs in the digital arena.
In this regard, Instagram (+110,815 followers) and TikTok (+61,334) were the platforms that experienced the sharpest growth in only one week. This confirms Real Betis' ability, thanks to its digital strategy, to connect with diverse audiences worldwide?especially younger fans?through content that seeks not only to inform but also to entertain.
Shirt sales
This growth has been accompanied by an equally positive response in the Retail area. In fact, more than 1,100 fans have chosen to customize their new shirts with the number "7" and the player's name on the back ? and even with the name Antonio de Triana, as he has been nicknamed by many supporters? or to purchase a jersey from the "Iluminado" line already in this 2025/26 season. In addition, a large share of the purchases recorded during this period came from new customers, confirming the strong impact the player's arrival has had.
Since his signing at the end of January through the close of last season, Real Betis has sold 4,792 Antony jerseys. This places him alongside other major Betis stars such as Isco and, previously, Joaquín ?the most in-demand players among fans in terms of merchandising.
