Several players absent in the second training session of the week

Van Wolfswinkel, Van der Vaart, Vargas and Westermann didn’t train with the team

Real Betis first team returned on Tuesday morning to the training ground for the second time this week, when there will be no league matches due to international fixtures. However, the team managed by Pepe Mel will play a friendly match on Thursday against Mérida AD. This friendly fixture will be a good opportunity to adjust concepts regarding the next Liga BBVA match against RCD Espanyol.

In this Tuesday’s session there have been several players out. Van der Vaart and Vargas have been doing functional work under the supervision of Fran Molano in order to recover completely from their respective injuries. On the other hand, Van Wolfswinkel has not joined the rest of his teammates because of the neck strain he suffers, which already made him miss the previous training. Another player who has remained in the gym receiving physiotherapy treatment was Heiko Westermann. The German defender missed out the session due to a strain in his left knee. Finally, Varela had to leave early on due to a strain in the biceps femoris of his right leg.
