Betis U10 A beats Málaga CF (4-2) and are proclaimed Andalusian Champions

This Sunday, Real Betis U10 A were proclaimed Andalusian Champions, the final phase of which was celebrated in the Jaen town of Pozo Alcón. Fernando Cáceres's lads, who yesterday beat CD Roquetas in the semi finals, today triumphed over Málaga CF in the grand final four goals to two, putting an end to a great season.

The match was marked by the fact that both teams were evenly matched and alternating offensive plays. It was to no avail that Málaga CF opened the scoring on their first incursion on Betis's area, but their reply was swift to follow; just five minutes later Adri and Gavi orchestrated the comeback. The crowd had to wait until the closing stages of the first half for the scoreboard to register any more goals. Despite the fact that Malaga CF levelled the match shortly before halftime, in the final moments, Vázquez gave Real Betis a vitally important advantage before the 30-minute second half. The second half seemed to follow a very similar script to the first with the exception that the only goal was scored in the last minute of the match. Once again the author was Gavi, who ensured the championship for the team and the definitive 4-2 result.

Minutes before the aforementioned runners-up final concluded for the U12 category. Real Betis U12 A, who were not able to beat Ciudad de Granada yesterday, today lost by two goals to four against CD Puerto Malagueño, despite having levelled the match after going 0-2 down. All in all it was a good competition for both 7-a-side football teams from the Heliopolis Academy, who progressed to this final phase of the Andalusian Championship after getting through a number of qualifying rounds. The trophy achieved by Betis U10 A gives the Real Betis Balompié Academy their second regional title of the season adding to Betis U16 A title which they won on 8 June.
