The early stages of the match showed the importance of the event, with two well-ordered squads trying to carry the weight of the meeting. While it was the Heliopolitan team who generated the first approaches of danger in two separate plays just a minute apart. In the 7th minute, Pibe took on his mark on the right wing, emerged to his left and his powerful left-footed shot was opposed only by Cádiz's crossbar. Moments later another advance by Pibe concluded with a shot by Diego in the small area that Álex Lázaro stopped with automatic reflexes keeping the match a tie.
