Ignacio Abeledo, David Hinojosa and Toni score in the Andalusian U18 and U16 victories against the teams from Madrid

This Sunday was the third and final day in the first phase of the Spanish Championship for Regional teams being held at San Agustín de Guadalix (Madrid). The Andalusian U18 team came out victorious (1-3) from their match against a team selected from the region of Madrid, a match in which the Real Betis Balompié Academy players, Ignacio Abeledo and David Hinojosa, both scored a goal; furthermore, they played the full 90 minutes.

 

Likewise, the Andalusian U16 team also beat Madrid (0-1) thanks to a goal scored by another Betis player, this time the attacking midfielder from Betis U16 Antonio Segura ‘Toni’, who came out to play at the beginning of the second half and tipped the balance in favour of the team from Andalusia. The midfielders Julio Gracia and Marcos Galán also played well throughout the duration of the match. The Green-and-White goalkeeper, Amador Zarco, saw the match from the bench.

 

With these victories the two teams with players selected from the Region of Andalusia go through to the second phase of the Spanish Championship with 6 points each. In both matches players from the Betis Academy played a fundamental role with the goals scored.
