A goal by Sofian allowed Betis B to chalk up their fourth consecutive victory (0-1)

A goal by the defender Sofian in the 35th minute gave Betis B victory this Sunday on their visit to Club Deportivo San Roque. This gives Óscar Cano's team their fourth consecutive victory reducing the point difference with the Third Division Group X leaders to just four points.

After the first few minutes of the match in which both teams were classically 'sounding each other out' the green-and-white reserves gained control of the ball. The offensive mobility of Marc Mas and Iván, who was a starter today, put the home team's defence in dire straits in the opening stages of the match. More specifically it was Iván who was the first to put Goyo, the home goalie, to the test with a grass-cutting shot. CD San Roque response was swift in coming with a shot by David which just went the wrong side of the crossbar. Betis B then put enormous pressure on the team from Cadiz making it difficult for them to make any plays and allowed them to encroach on their rival's goal with greater insistence. Thus, a recovered ball by Zamora in their rivals half and cleared for a corner kick by the home defence gave rise to the Heliopolitan team's goal. Varela was chosen to take the corner kick and Sofian headed the ball into the back of the net from the middle of the area. In the 35th minute the score was 0-1. Shortly after Caro came close to widening the gap but he just failed to connect with a ball off a good free kick, once again taken by Varela.

CD San Roque stepped up to the line in the second half in an attempt to equalise, but the Green-and-whites were very sure of themselves in defence throughout the match, repelling any attempt on their area. As the second half progressed the match opened up a little, with scoring opportunities for both teams. In the 22nd minute Iván could have scored a second goal for Betis, but Goyo got a prodigious hand to it deflecting the ball. Almost immediately after that, the home player Miguel had the chance to equalise, but Montoya reacted with lightning speed and avoided any danger. In the 38th minute, Antonio Jesús left his team one man down when he received a second yellow card. In the final straight of the match Betis B came close to scoring the definitive goal with attempts by Marc Mas followed by Moyita, but there was to be no change in the sore.
