Community Champions: The Real Betis Foundation develops the European project in el Polígono Sur
Real Betis has continually empowered social labor through their foundation in the Polígono Sur, one of the neighborhoods with the most economic difficulties in Europe, over many years, and it has done so precisely with a European project financed by the UEFA foundation.
The Community Champions League is a project generated by the European Football Development Network (EFDN) in association with eight soccer clubs shared within the Netherlands, England, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Hungary, and Ukraine. NAC Breda, the Real Betis Balompie Foundation, FC Twente, Shakthar Social, Panathinaikos, Ferencvarosi TC and SL Benfica bring this paneuropean program together in collaboration with the EFDN.
This initiative has given more momentum to the sports project that the Foundation has developed for many years in the Polígono Sur. Together with the ex-player José Manuel Monsalvete, the project promotes social integration and education of the kids from Tres Mil Viviendas that encounter vulnerable situations through soccer.
The Community Champions League promotes social integration through sports, providing the opportunity to people of different cultures to unite to create relationships and friendships, at the same time breaking down barriers through the prevention of violence, racism, and intolerance in sports.
