Gabriel Humberto Calderón will not continue professionally linked to Real Betis from 1 July. The manager had a meeting last week with the President, Manuel Domínguez Platas, and the Vice President, Fernando Casas, informing them of his intention to take a different professional route.

Given the current situation both the manager and the club were in agreement that there was a need to renovate the entity's sporting project for the team to return to the First Division next season. Real Betis would like to thank Gabriel Calderón and the rest of the technical staff for the work they have done and their enormous effort and implication to try reverse the delicate situation the team was in when they arrived four months ago; unfortunately, they were not able to avoid relegation.

Tomorrow the manager will give a press conference to bid farewell during which he shall be accompanied by the President Manuel Dominguez Platas.
