The LFP awards Real Betis and Rubén Castro for season 2014/2015

The Spanish Professional Football League (LFP) closed last season with the award ceremony Premios La Liga. In this edition, La Liga has paid tribute to the best of last year with 14 awards divided in 9 categories. In this event, there has been a special place for Real Betis Balompié.

Before the individual awards were given, the chairman of the LFP, Javier Tebas, and the State Secretary for Sports, Miguel Cardenal, gave the awards for best teams in Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante. Real Betis chairman, Juan Carlos Ollero, then received the award for Real Betis Balompié aschampion of Liga Adelante 2014-2015.

Once the individual awards began, there was also a special mention for a Green-and-White player. Rubén Castro was named “Best Striker” in Liga Adelante 2014-2015, a category in which he competed with his teammate Jorge Molina and Borja Bastón, who played last season in Real Zaragoza. Pepe Mel received the award on behalf of Castro. “Rubén has told me that he wants to thank specially his teammates because they helped him to achieve this award and also all the Real Betis family”, stated the manager.

Not as lucky as Rubén Castro was Antonio Adán. He was a nominee as “Best Goalkeeper” but the Green-and-White player didn’t get the award, which was given to Iván Cuellar from Real Sporting de Gijon.
