Leo Baptistao: “It depends on us, and the intensity we put into the match”

The Brazilian forward appeared with Gabriel Humberto Calderón in the press room at the Rubin Stadium, the venue for the final match in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32, between FC Rubin Kazán and Real Betis Balompié. Baptistao, desirous of scoring his first goal for the green-and-white team, also answered questions about the teams current situation in the national league.

How will the cold affect you tomorrow?: “I don't think it will have much affect. Many of the players have had to play matches in the cold. I don't think that is a valid excuse. We must have a good attitude from the start, and try to win the match”.

Your first goal for Betis is taking its time: “The goal could come at any time. I am working to help the team not just to score goals. We all have to do our part. I don't feel pressured because I haven't scored because I know I have been working well, it will come”.

Have you ever played in such low temperatures?: “No, I have never played in temperatures like this. It is harder to play but the weather is not important. It only depends on us, and the intensity we put into the match”.

Physical form: “I have had some problems, but I am over them now. I needed to be more active. I wasn't surprised I was sidelined, even after the investment they had made in me. I have come here to play good football, not to get any freebies. I didn't come here as a starter, I came to work”
