The red and white team took the lead in the first half with an own goal from Rui Silva after a series of rebounds in the Betis area and another from Morata just before half-time. Real Betis reaction came after passing through the locker room. William Carvalho reduced the deficit with a great goal from outside the area in the 61st minute. The green and white team looked for a tie until the end but the scoreboard did not move again.
