Real Betis Balompié said farewell today to Benito Villamarín Stadium this season with a win. In a game in which the team was fairly superior to Granada CF, a brace from Juanmi left the three points at home. However, the score at Wanda Metropolitano left no options for the team in that last game to qualify for the Champions League.
The game began with high pace and son came chances. Juanmi had a great one in the fifth minute following a great pass from Iglesias, but his effort was too soft. But it was just a warning. Betis' number 7 did score a few minutes later. Canales provided a great assist and the striker chipped the ballo ver Maximiano.
However, Granada started to push and had several occasions. Suarez almost scored but hit the post. Betis tried to react with some chances that the team was unable to finish. But the final minutes of the first half were for the visitors. Rui Silva had to make two great saves. And Jorge Molina sent his header over the bar.
The second half, on the other hand, started with Betis regaining the control of the ball, and the whole 45 minutes were almost entirely for the Green and Whites. Bellerín headed wide the first of the second period. Edgar got even closer in a corner kick some time later.
The control of the possession was overwhelming at this point in favour of Real Betis. Granada tried a couple of times in counterattacks. One of them was quite dangerous, but the defence aborted the goal. Near the end, Rodri delivered a great pass to Juanmi, and the striker scored his second of the night.
This way finished the team their season at home.
