MATCH REPORT | Time to come back in Germany (1-2)
Bad result for Real Betis Balompié in the first leg of the Europa League last 16 against Eintracht Frankfurt. The team did not have a good day and lost due their own mistakes. The only goal for the team was scored by Nabil Fekir.
The first half began with a good chance for Canales. However, the German side hit first. Kostic delivered a cross that, quite luckily, went in by the far post. Betis pushed forward after the goal and had their best moments of the game.
The goal arrived this way. Fekir made a great play and finished with a curled effort that went in by the bottom left corner. But the joy did not last long, as just two minutes later, a mistake for Betis defence allowed Kamada to score.
In the second half, key moment of the round when the referee pointed to the spot for a handball committed by Ruibal. Borré shot but Bravo guessed it right and saved it. Betis tried to answer right away with a great play that canals almost finished in.
However, the Green and Whites were not feeling comfortable on the pitch, and the away side had better chances. Claudio Bravo made a couple of fantastic saves that kept the team alive.
