MATCH REPORT | Victory in the extra time (2-4)

Real Betis Balompié qualified tonight for the next round of Copa del Rey after beating, not without suffering, CF Talavera. The team from La Mancha put on a great performance and took the lead. Betis came back and it seemed that the Green and Whites were going to win, but the locals tied up just before the end. In the extra time, Lainez and Canales scored to win the match.
The home side took the lead really early from the penalty spot. It wasn't a foul, but there's no VAR in these rounds of Copa del Rey. Góngora scored from the spot. Betis reacted well and Borja Iglesias levelled up the score just seven minutes later with a great shot.
From that moment, Betis took control of the game and the possession, looking to score more goals. The team had several chances before the break. On the other side, Talavera were pressing really intense and playing a really good game.
The home side also started really well in the second half and had several chances to score, some of them quite clear. CF Talavera were better at this stage of the game. However, everything changed when Carvalho was fouled inside the area and the ref pointed to the spot. Joaquin took the responsibility and scored.
From there, Betis improved and had more chances, but was unable to increase the distance in the score. Talavera held on and, when it seemed that the game was over, Perales scored. The match was going to extra time.
The home team had a great chance in the first half of the extra time bu Joel saved the team. Then, in the second half a great goal from Lainez and another from canals gave Betis the ticket to the next round.
