Molinero: "Any player would love to be in my position"

Francisco Molinero, Betis's first reinforcement for the 2014/15 season, made his first appearance today as a green-and-white player at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. The right wing-back, clearly excited about this new stage in his career, gave some tips about how to overcome the different obstacles that will appear on the long road to be followed in the 'Liga' Adelante (the second division). Molinero, with extensive experience in the second tier of Spanish football, gave his evaluation of Julio Velázquez's work.

Sensations: “I have come here with all the enthusiasm in the world, so I am very eager to start. To say I am Betis player says it all. I'm looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and get an outline of the daily work routine. Hopefully we'll have a great season and we will get Betis back to the place where it belongs”.

Experience in the 'Liga' Adelante: “I believe I have come to a great, historic club but you cannot win on that alone. We know that we are going to be the team to beat in the Second Division and that we should work all-out because there's not going to be a truce. There are a lot of good and bad moments throughout the long season in this category but you have to be calm and patient. We are a team that has to be at the top of the standings whatever happens. I think we have a very good team. Any player would love to be in my position so I'm going to give this Club everything I have”.

You were one of Julio Velázquez's pupils at Real Murcia: “He is very ambitious. He is a hard worker and a winner. He knows how to get the most out of his players and his enthusiasm is contagious. There won't be just 11 players, there will be 25. Nobody should sit on their laurels, nobody is going to be an automatic starter or reserve. Everyone is going to have to contribute. The important thing is that we become a great team. The training sessions will be very tough and competition will be intense. That would lead to an improvement in everybody and will bring victories with it”.
