Quique Setién.

Quique Setién: "Our idea will always be the same; we’ll go for everything at Bernabéu”

Real Betis head coach, Quique Setién, has addressed the media after the game against RC Deportivo de La Coruña (2-1).

Match analysis: “In general, we have controlled the game. It’s true that there was a moment in the first half, after they scored, when we went in attack and lost control a bit. After that, they hadn’t barely cross the midfield line. We have had some very good moments and we had the ball and the spaces. We got to their box many times but we lack some precision to finish the best ones. In the second half, they had two counterattacks in which could have hurt us, but we stopped them. In general, seeing all that happened, we deserved to win. We knew these points were important and would allow us to continue our way. Let’s see if we can do the same without suffering so much.”

Guardado: “He’s an exceptional player. He has given three assists so far, and many good passes that didn0t end in goal. He has a great quality and a huge work rate. It’s like Joaquín, they are two leaders in this team. Guardado is an outstanding player and he will give us a lot. We have to look after him, we want him to be fit the whole year and gives everything in every game. Sometimes he doesn0t know to stop and sometimes I ask him to do that, to stop a second like he did in the second goal, which was wonderful.”

Next game, against Real Madrid: “We are going to be able to face every game with the same will and enthusiasm. We’ll try to have always the same level of intensity and push. What we can’t control is what the rival might do. Our proposal is to go for the victory in every game. Deportivo couldn’t cross the midfield line in the first ten minutes and that means a lot. We’ll always try to begin that way. Obviously, maybe we can’t do that at Bernabéu, but we’ll try.”

Joaquín: “Just like Guardado, an extraordinary player who, hopefully, we’ll fit for the entire season. Sometimes we won’t be able to play them but the make a difference. We have seen, not just today, that they play very well together. They understand each other and that happens with top quality players. You always expect something different from them.”
