MATCH REPORT | Real Betis beats DC United (2-5)

Real Betis played against DC United the first of the two friendly matches the team will have in their tour through the USA. After finishing LaLiga last Sunday, the Green and Whites travelled to Audi Field to face the second placed side in the East Conference of the MLS.

The visiting side controlled the game from the start until the end and showed their superiority to get the victory. However, during the first fifteen minutes, any of the sides could had taken the lead but Real Betis went to half time winning 0-2. Loren opened the score after a Good collective play. The striker took advantage of a good assist from Joaquín on the right to tap the ball into an empty net.

After the goal, there were chances on both ends, but the clearest ones were for the Spanish side, as they displayed more intensity and pace. In this way, the second goal came when Sergio León finished with a good effort.

After the break, the plot changed when the home team cut the lead early on. The shot from Griffin Yow went in after taking a big deflection in Feddal. The goal spurred the team from Washington forward, trying to level the score up. However, Joaquín showed up to restore the two-goal difference. The captain got the ball just outside the box and produced a great curled effort that went in by the post.

After the goal, the game went into a crazy phase with many chances for both teams. In three minutes, Amarikwa scored the second for the Americans and Marc Bartra converted a penalty for the Green and Whites. The good performance from Betis was finished by Academy player Robert, who made the fifth with a good finishing inside the box.
