Real Betis sign Willian José on a permanent move
Real Betis Balompié and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for the transfer of Willian José. This way, the Brazilian striker will be a Real Betis player until 2026.
Willian José da Silva (Porto Calvo, Brazil, 23rd of November of 1991) began his professional career at Gremio Prudente FL in Brazil. His good performances drew the attention of Deportivo Maldonado, that signed him in 2011. At the Uruguayan side, Willian José was loaned out to Santos FC, Gremio Porto Alegre, Real Madrid Castilla, Real Zaragoza and UD Las Palmas.
In 2016, the new Betis player was transferred to Real Sociedad, where he played until 2021, although he played the second part of the 2020/2021 season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He has been capped with Brazil U20.
During his first year as a Green and White, Willian José played 44 official games, scored 11 goals and provided five assists.
