Rennella: "I know there are some great forwards but I believe in myself"
The Franco-Italian forward was presented today at midday as a new Real Betis Balompié player. Rennella, who was signed last season by the Heliopolitan club and loaned to CD Lugo, has started his first season as a player in the green-and-white ranks with the hope of scoring goals and contributing to the team's objectives. In a press conference Rennella spoke about his first days in the city of Seville and the demands placed on him by Julio Velázquez in the training sessions.
Enthusiastic about this new stage: “When I was loaned out to CD Lugo I knew the plan was for me to come back to play for Betis. I think I have performed well this season. Now I'm happy to be here”.
Experience with new teammates: “Things are going really well. I met Sergio last year at CD Lugo. There is a good group and I get on well with everybody”.
Competition on the offensive line: “If the team wants to get promoted to the First Division again they need good players. I know there are some great forwards but I believe in myself and I know I can play in this category. I am going to give it my all”.
Could you have come back in the winter transfer market?: “I heard talk but nobody spoke to me about that”.
Goals in the 2014/15 season: “I wouldn't like to give a figure, I only hope I will score more than last year. If I do, it will have been a good season”.
Comparisons with Ibrahimovic: “I am often compared with him because of my style of play. I am Rennella, and I try to be myself”.
Julio Velázquez: “He knows where he wants to be in the future. He is ambitious and very intense in the training sessions”.
The first work sessions: “There are a lot of good players. We have everything we need to have a good season. When the official matches start we will know where we are in relation to the other teams”.
The differences between Cordoba and Seville: “I suppose that there will be more pressure here and the fans are right behind the team but there's not a great difference”.
