Rubén Castro is in his top scoring season

Rubén Castro continues making history with Real Betis Balompié. With the two goals he scored against CD Lugo (5-1) the striker adds up to 28 goals with four matches left to play. He is also the top scorer in Liga Adelante. A special number for Rubén, as he expressed, at the beginning of the season, his desire to beat the mark of 27 goals he scored in the 2010-2011 season, the last time Real Betis got promoted.

The Betis striker, a legend already for the fans, had on his sight that number, and he has still four matches left to score even more. Also, the two goals he scored in the match allowed him to increase the difference with the rest to be top scorer at the end of the season. The second on the list, Borja Bastón of Real Zaragoza, is six goals behind.

If this was not enough, Rubén has another record at his grasp: scoring in six matches in a row with Real Betis. During the 2010-2011 season he scored in five matches in a row three times, but couldn’t make it for a sixth game. That season he wasn’t top scorer either, as Jonathan Soriano, from FC Barcelona B took the prize home.

28 goals to illustrate the best season of Rubén Castro with the Green-and-White shirt. It will also be remembered because in this season he became the top scorer in the History of Real Betis Balompié.
