Setién: “Football has been a bit unfair with us”

Quique Setién has addressed the media after the match at Ipurua Stadium against SD Eibar.

Macth analysis: "We did the game we wanted to do. It's always difficult against this team because the way they play. They never make it easy. We have controlled their long balls, their aerial plays, their crosses. In general, we've made many things well. The game was not easy to control, but I think we did. We have also created enough chances to score two, three or even four goals. And then, they take one shot just before half time and it goes in I don't know how. Sometimes, scoring is so easy for one team and how difficult is for others. This is what it is, we have to move on. I'm really proud of my team, my players, and their commitment and attitude. I think that's what we have to analyse in the middle of the situation we're in. The team keeps strong, we just lacked today that point of inspiration to score and get out of this bitter situation we are in."

Unfair result: "Even Mendilibar told me after the game, that we deserved much more. He came to shake my hand and told me, and I think it's true and obvious. If you look at things with a bit of perspective, as I do? We had really clear chances. Andrés had one and then the penalty. We had many chances that we could have finished better."

Future in the bench: "I don't know. It depends. I guess that for those who just look at the score, it's an easy decision. For those who look a bit further, I think we do many things the right and that allows us to look to the future with optimism. There's a foundation, many things to hold on to. It all depends of the perspective."
