Setién: “It’s a hard blow because we had faith”
Quique Setién has addressed the media at Anoeta Stadium after the game against Real Sociedad.
Match analysis: "We knew that the one with more accuracy would win the match. We had the clearest chance of the game. The one Joaquín had before the scored. We would had taken the lead and Real Sociedad were suffering at that point. We had the game under control. Then, an unfortunate play came and we gave them the match. It's a hard blow because we had faith in this game and it couldn't be. We started well and dominated the match. We didn't let them cross the midfield line. They had some chances but we had the game under control. It's a shame. We didn't deserve to lose but this is the way football is. We have to move on. We have a crucial game against Villarreal on Sunday. It's true that we have allowed a rival to enter the fight for Europe, but we still have chances. We'll keep working and believing we can."
Play in the first goal: "There are always screens in set plays. I couldn't see the play again, just live. The referee could have checked again. What's obvious is that it wasn't a corner. That's evident. The rest is the referee's perception and you know how it goes. Sometimes it's for you and some others against you."
