Setién: "Rayo have been superior to us for most of the game”
Quique Setién has addressed the media at Estadio de Vallecas after the match against Rayo Vallecano.
Match analysis: "I'm satisfied with the point. When you don't deserve it, even more. Rayo have been superior to us for most of the game. They created more chances, so we are content with this point. I'm not happy with our performance. We knew the difficulties we were to encounter with Rayo. We knew they were going to be aggressive, pressing strong and putting us under pressure. We weren't as precise as we wanted, and we lacked the personality to overcome their pressing. There was a moment, after our goal, that the game was in our hand. If we had played then with more calm, we could have solved it in a better way. However, we did exactly the opposite and even conceded some chances that could have costed this point."
Jesé and Joaquín as strikers: "We had the chance to play with Loren at the front because he is more a pure striker but we knew the match was going to be as it has been. We knew they were going to press strong and leave spaces behind and we would need fast players to take advantage, but we lacked to ability we have other times. Any other option seems better afterwards. This one seemed the best before the game."
Eder Sarabia, assistant manager, has been sent off: "It was a play in which Tello was fouled. Mateu Lahoz didn't whistle, but we thought it was a clear foul and it was also a clear booking, and that player already had a yellow card. It was a crucial moment in the game. Eder protested and was sent off."
Kick off time: "It's not a normal time for us. The same happens when we play in the mornings, and it's the same for all the other teams. It rained a bit before the game and the pitch was quick. I always rather play in the evenings or nights, more normal times. These are things you have to accept and that's it."
