The creator of Captain Tsubasa, Yoichi Takahashi, visited the Benito Villamarín Stadium this morning to find out about the history of the club and to visit the Real Betis installations. Takahashi is the author of the manga series "Captain Tsubasa", known as 'Campeones' in Spain, and was hugely successful since it was first aired in 1990. The Japanese author became interested in football "during the Argentina World Cup in 1978. I was baseball fan before then, but I was bitten by the football bug. And have been ever since". Takahashi visited the pitch, the tunnel, the VIP Box and all the facilities at the stadium. "I really liked everything I've seen," he said. "I already knew a lot about Betis from my assistant who designed the famous manga series about Ryuuji, the Japanese player who plays in the ranks of Real Betis. I was really keen to come and get to know the club". This manga has art work by Toda Kunikaku and scripts by Nozawa Hisashi.
