Adrián San Miguel will remain with Real Betis Balompié after announcing his retirement as a professional footballer last May. Specifically, Adrián, who boasts not only a distinguished professional career but also extensive academic qualifications, will join the sporting management team led by Manu Fajardo, where he will perform sporting and institutional coordination duties. His responsibilities will include managing international relations and monitoring and supporting the development of young talent.

Adrián San Miguel (Seville, January 3, 1987) came up through the Real Betis Balompié youth system from the age of ten, making his debut with the first team in 2012. A year later, he moved to the Premier League to play for West Ham and subsequently signed for Liverpool, clubs where he delivered outstanding performances and demonstrated his leadership. With Liverpool, he won seven titles (Premier League, FA Cup, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Super Cup, and two League Cups) before returning to Real Betis in 2024. In his second spell with the Verdiblancos, he established himself as one of the team's captains, played 32 matches, and participated in both the Conference League final and the recent Champions League qualification.

The former goalkeeper has combined his long sporting career with his studies. In fact, the Seville native holds a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and has completed UEFA's Football Management courses, LaLiga's Global Players Program, and the FIFA Players Executive Programme.

Following the official announcement of his new role, Adrián expressed his satisfaction at remaining with Real Betis and his excitement for this new chapter:
