MATCH REPORT | A scoring festival and onto the last 16 (4-0; 5-0 agg)

Barragán, Sanabria, Sergio León and Lo Celso scored the goals

Real Betis Balompié comfortably got their ticket to the last 16 of Copa del Rey after beating Real Racing de Santander by 4-0. Barragán gave the team the lead in the first half and, in the second, Sanabria, from the spot, Sergio León and Lo Celso closed the score.

The first chance of the game came early with a free kick delivered by Canales that Barragán tried to finish inside the box but the keeper saved it. In the initial minutes, the ball was entirely for the Green and Whites, with the rivals almost unable to touch the ball.

Just after the first fifteen minutes, canals tried to surprise the keeper with a long-range free kick that went a whisker away. The control by Betis was absolute, with Racing waiting in defence with their lines really close together. The next occasion was for Betis, again with a free kick. This time it was Sanabria who forced the goalkeeper to deflect the ball to corner kick. In that play, Tello delivered the cross and Barragán tapped it in.

Racing had their first in the game immediately afterwards with a quick counterattack. Jon Ander found himself alone in front of Robles, but the keeper made a great save to avoid the goal.

The second half went underway and Betis made one substitution, as Lo Celso came on for Canales. It seemed that Racing had begun with the idea of attacking more. They had a couple of approaches, but Betis defence were solid. However, it was Betis the team that scored. Feddal was tackled down inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Sanabria put the ball and shot, sending Crespo the wrong way.

In spite of the away team trying more, the chances were for Real Betis. Lo Celso tried with a good effort towards the bottom left corner, but Crespo sent the ball wide. In that corner kick, Tello delivered to the heart of the box where León was quicker than the defenders and headed the ball in to make the third.

Inui had the fourth a bit later in an occasion created by León. The striker assisted the Japanese and left him alone in front of the keeper, but he missed the target. The final goal came two minutes before the end. Lo Celso got the ball inside the area, dribbled twice a rival and put the ball in the top right corner. A fantastic goal by the Argentine.
