MATCH REPORT | Real Betis lost against Real Sociedad (0-3)

Pellegrini: "The first half was even but they were better in the second"

Real Betis Balompié lost on Sunday 0-3 against Real Sociedad in the first game after the international break. The Green and Whites, with the returns of Bravo, Ruibal and Iglesias, received the first blow just before half time. Two minutes into the second half, the team scored through Sanabria, but the goal was disallowed for an alleged offside. The replay from the VAR does not show offside, though. A few minutes later, again with the VAR checking, the referee did not signal a clear penalty on Sanabria. Two controversial plays that the players protested. Oyarzabal doubled the lead for the away side from the spot and Januzaj closed the scored two minutes before the end.

Pellegrini: "The first half was even but they were better in the second"

Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media at Benito Villamarín Stadium after the game. The Chilean coach stated: "The first half was quite even. They scored in the last minute before half time and that was key for the development of the second half. Real Sociedad is a team that controls the ball well and it's difficult to hurt them in defense. We didn't so much. The first half was even but they were better in the second. Regarding the controversial plays? I haven't seen them and I'm not going to give my opinion. That's speculation. Real Sociedad were fair winners in the second half."
