Real Betis extend Manu Fajardo's contract until 2030

The Sporting Director of Professional Football has held the position since 2024.

Real Betis Balompié and Manu Fajardo have reached an agreement to extend the contract of the Club's Sporting Director of Professional Football until 30 June 2030. With this renewal, the Club reaffirms its confidence in the project led by Fajardo, who joined Real Betis as Technical Secretary in the summer of 2023 before being appointed Sporting Director in February 2024.

Since his arrival, Fajardo has overseen the sporting management of the first team and the planning of the squad, combining the pursuit of maximum competitiveness with a medium- and long-term strategic vision aimed at consolidating a sustainable model of growth. During this period, the Club has achieved significant sporting milestones, including reaching the UEFA Conference League final in 2025 and, more recently, securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Under his leadership, the sporting department has developed a methodology based on detailed market analysis, forward planning, strong negotiating capabilities and the identification of players who meet both the team's sporting requirements and the Club's financial framework.

Following the signing of his new contract, Manu Fajardo expressed his delight at continuing in his role:

"I am extremely happy, excited and honoured by this responsibility. I would also like to thank the President, Vice-President, CEO, Board of Directors and, of course, everyone in my staff, all the players who have represented Real Betis over the past three years, and every member of the Club's workforce. By working together, we have been able to achieve some very important milestones for the Club. An exciting season lies ahead. We will once again enjoy the Champions League together, as one family, alongside our supporters. At the same time, I know we must continue working tirelessly and giving 200% every single day to ensure Real Betis always lives up to the expectations of its fans."

Club President Ángel Haro also welcomed the agreement, praising Fajardo's professionalism and commitment:

"He is an incredibly hard-working professional and a true Betis supporter. We are delighted because he is not only excellent at his job, but he also truly understands what this Club represents. We are very pleased that Manu will be with us until at least 2030, and hopefully for many more years to come."
