MATCH REPORT | Setback in Getafe (2-0)

Real Betis had a bad day in Madrid

Real Betis Balompié lost today against Getafe CF in a game in which nothing worked the team's way. The home team was superior in every aspect of the game and won thanks to two goals in two minutes, scored by Jorge Molina and Foulquier.

The game began with Betis going directly to the opposite goal, looking to attack from the start. However, Getafe had the first chance of the game after a mistake by the defence. Ángel got the ball from a Betis defender and shot, missing by a small distance.

The Green and Whites were trying now to lower the pace of the game and build with calm but Getafe pressed strong and made it difficult. The first for Betis came through Carvalho with a long-range effort that Soria saved. Getafe almost scored the first goa a few minutes later. Maksimovic shot from the edge of the box and Robles made a good save. The rebound was caught by Molina, but the former Betis captain was denied twice by Bartra.

The home team started to improve and Betis were struggling to overcome the pressure. The pace of the game got slower in the final minutes of the first half.

The second period began exactly as the end of the first had gone. Antunes made a cross that forced Joel to punch the ball into corner-kick. Getafe were now having the possession and Betis were not offering anything positive to turn the situation around. They managed to do it at certain moments, and Loren almost scored with a header.

Two catastrophic minutes made the game almost impossible for Real Betis. First, Jorge Molina tapped a cross in and did not celebrate the goal. Then, Foulquier found his way through the defence and made the second. The goals fell like an anvil on Betis mentality and Foulquier almost double his account three minutes later, missing his header by inches.

Betis couldn't find the way, the clarity. The team tried to push in the final minutes but didn't improve the bad image so far. A day to forget in Getafe.
