Real Betis Balompié participated in the panel Creating synergies across borders: Models of success in sports, held in Washington DC. This event, organised by Real Betis and LaLiga World Challenge, gathered the people in charge of some of the word leading sporting brands. The Green and White Club was represented by their Chief Business Officer, Ramón Alarcón. It was held in the former residence of the Ambassadors of Spain in the American capital, with the presence of local media, companies related to the sport sector, and other possible partners.

Alongside Alarcón, the other panellists were Nicolás García Hemme, VP Strategy and Business Development at LaLiga; Chris Hull, Vice President, Media, PR & Community at DC United; and Tommy Sheppard, Senior VP of Operations at Washington Wizards. The panel was moderated by Dave Johnson, Sports Director and Morning Sports presenter.

The aim of the panel was to talk about and compare different models in sports business; similarities between European and American sports culture; discuss the future of sports and strategies within the sporting market; or adding values to the sports culture. Also, the panellists commented on the passion of the fans in Europe and North America and how the sporting business has developed in recent years.

In this sense, Ramón Alarcón stated that "Real Betis can learn many things about how Americans develop sporting events. Especially, regarding the organisation of events, and how the show that surrounds the game is conducted. Also, they are ahead in terms of ticketing and it's amazing the way they segment the audience in order to reach specific sectors depending of the event you want to promote."

On his part, Tommy Sheppard outlined "the passion that European supporters display and the faithfulness they have for their teams. We have seen the way Real Betis fans cheer for their team and it's frankly impressive."
